COST: $3690.00

 

PAYMENT: By Western Union Wire transfer or Bank transfer. 50% of payment $1845 due by January 15, 2010, remaining balance of $1845 due upon arrival in Prague.

GETTING TO PRAGUE: Janet Humphrey will assist with securing a group flight. We will pick your group up at the airport upon arrival and bring you to the residence hall.

VISA: We will send the paperwork for your Visa to Janet Humphrey in May 2010. You must take the paperwork we send to the Czech Consulate to secure your Visa for the Schengen region. Your Visa will be open from July 17 to August 10, 2010. You will need to get proof of health insurance and travel insurance in order to get your Visa so purchase that before you apply for your Visa.

RESIDENCE HALL: The rooms in the University residence hall are basic, but they are clean and comfortable. You will share a room with other KIMEP students and you can pick your roommates if you wish. You can see a picture of a room here. There is Internet access available in the room 24/7 for $40. You must bring your own computer and RJ45 cord to connect, it is not wireless. You can pay upon arrival.

TO APPLY: Go to the application page at www.goesac.com and complete the application including two references and a short essay. Pay your 50% deposit at the time of application.

TRIP TO KARLOVY VARY: July 23 – 25, 2010. Program includes two nights in a hotel with breakfast in the beautiful spa town of Karlovy Vary. This trip also includes very comfortable transportation to and from Karlovy Vary. You will be accompanied by Janet Humphrey.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING WITH ME TO PRAGUE?

  1. A DESIRE TO LEARN!
  2. A GREAT ATTITUDE!
  3. ENTHUSIASM!
  4. IDENTIFICATION:
    • Bring your Passport and/or Driver’s License to use for ID (copy of passport in case you misplace it)
    • Bring a copy of your Birth Certificate (in case a replacement passport is needed)
    • Bring a copy of your Student ID Card from your home university
    • Bring your ICSE or ISIC Card (can be obtained through local travel agencies for about $35 and gets you student discounts to some museums, galleries and other entrance fees)
  5. Laptops are highly recommended but not required by ESAC for your courses. It is handy for keeping in touch with family and friends back home and it will make researching your travel destinations easier.
  6. Bring towels as they are not provided. If you wish to cook meals in the res hall, you can either bring a pan or buy an inexpensive one once you arrive.

  8. CLOTHING
    • Get a high quality suitcase with wheels and bring only one piece, as you will be carrying your luggage throughout Europe and that means, you carry it!
    • Bring 2 pairs of comfortable jeans and one pair of slacks Layer clothing-t-shirt, sweatshirt or sweater
    • 2 pairs of comfortable walking shoes, one pair of gym shoes, one pair of nicer shoes for site visits. No high heals!
    • One business outfit and one social outfit with you for those appropriate occasions
    • If you plan on traveling to a warmer climate, bring 2 pair of shorts and a bathing suit
    • Bring a backpack equipped with notebooks, pens and pencils
    • Acquiring guidebooks or maps of the region will also come in handy.

Bring enough clothing to last you for four weeks with out overdoing the load! Students will be responsible for the laundering of their own clothes. Laundry facilities are readily available in your residence hall and around Laundromats in Prague and they are inexpensive.

REFUND POLICY:

The refund policy as outlined below will be strictly adhered to in order to ensure consistency and fairness.

  • If you decide to withdraw from a program, you must notify ESAC immediately in writing (esac@goesac.com).
  • $100 application fee is NON-REFUNDABLE if you are accepted to the program.
  • The application fee of $100 will be refunded only if a candidate is not accepted to the program by ESAC.
  • If you withdraw before March 15, ESAC will refund all but the $100 deposit.
  • If you withdraw between March 15 - May 6, ESAC will refund 75% of the program fee.
  • If you withdraw between May 7 - May 22, ESAC will refund 50% of the program fee.
  • If you withdraw after May 22, none of the program fee will be refunded.
  • If you require visa and the visa application is denied by the Czech Embassy, ESAC will refund program fee upon receiving proof of visa denial.
